Why we exist

The commission system hasn't changed in fifty years.

A great agent in BC adds real value: pricing your home, marketing it, handling offers, walking you through subjects and closing. The work is real. The pricing model around that work, however, has barely moved since the 1970s.

Sell a million-dollar home and you typically pay around $13,000 to $18,000 on the listing side, plus another ~2.5% to the buyer's agent. Whether the home takes three days to sell or three months. Whether you needed full hand-holding or barely needed anyone at all.

We thought sellers deserved a choice. Flat $999 if you want the essentials. 1% capped at $9,999 if you want full hands-on service. Either way, the same MLS, the same legal protection, the same licensed people. You just keep the difference.

Who's behind this

Two founders, one belief.

We built Ownext because we watched families we know lose tens of thousands of dollars to a fee structure no one could explain. We're not building a tech company that happens to do real estate. We're a licensed brokerage that uses better tools.

Co-founder

Ashman runs product and operations. Before Ownext he spent years building consumer software and watching his own family navigate a Surrey home sale. He decided the math didn't need to look the way it did.

Jaskirat Perhar

Co-founder

Jaskirat leads brokerage and agent relationships. A licensed REALTOR in BC, he has closed listings across Surrey, Delta, and the South Fraser. He believes flat-fee is how the industry catches up to its customers.

    Contracts, disclosures, subjects, completion — all handled by BCFSA-licensed people. The paperwork that protects you doesn't change.

  3. Different price

    $999 flat or 1% capped at $9,999, instead of 2.5–3% on the listing side. The savings stay with your family.
